AMAN CENTER CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL CHILD HELPLINE DAY

The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN", a center governed by the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, celebrates the International Child Helpline Day, which is on 17th May every year, by publishing many awareness messages on issues related to child helplines through the Center's accounts on social media platforms, and by organizing the International Conference on Child Helplines during The period from May 23-24 of this month.
Many people interested in social protection for children in and outside the State of Qatar will participate in the International Conference on Child Helplines.
In this regard, Mrs. Amna Al Mahmoud, Director of the Protection Department at AMAN, expressed that “the interest in helping children is a real challenge for all. The child is the future, and he bears the responsibility for the progress and success of society. Therefore, at AMAN, we emphasize the organization of such special international conferences that discuss child protection mechanisms, in order to benefit from the experiences of other countries and exchange information on issues related to children.
Furthermore, Mrs. Amna Al Mahmoud clarified that the challenges of working in the field of child helplines are great. However, there are great efforts made that will produce their fruits and results quickly and effectively in society.
Mrs. Amna emphasized the Center's keenness to celebrate the international and local days for issues related to the target groups, including women, children and victims of family breakdown, with the aim of strengthening the principle of community and international partnership. Therefore, the Center is keen to organize the international conference on issues related to child helplines and the mechanisms used in it through cooperation and partnership with the Child Helpline International, in order to create a safe environment for children, and to achieve AMAN's vision and mission in providing protection and social rehabilitation to reduce violence.
It is worth noting that the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN" was elected in 2021 as Vice President of the Child Helpline International in the Middle East and North Africa. It should be noted that AMAN's services such as: the hotline (919) and electronic applications such as (Help Me and Inform Me) to protect the children launched by AMAN, helped the Center to be elected for such position.
AMAN is concerned with protecting and rehabilitating women and children victims of violence and family breakdown and reintegrating them into society.
